What you'll do
Xochimilco Canals of Time
In this private, guided, lreisure tour on a boat visit some of the 600 miles of canals still left from what Mexico City used to be 7 centuries ago. we will take you on a special route to all highlights which include the ecological, farming zone all the way to the original and bizarre Island of the Dolls.
We will learn of Xochimilco's history, its uniqueness and exotic flora and fauna. We will show you the hundreds of man-made islands that kept this city fed for centuries.
The impressive collection of canals will be the back bone of our whole visit. 95% of the attractions lie along them.
In the modern town of Xochimilco we will take you to its 16th century parish, now a cathedral.
You will meet the Axolotl, the world's most surprising amphibian that has the capacity to regenerate many of its body parts. We will enjoy a light Mexican lunch onboard and also an exotic-flavored sherbet tasting.
In the middle of the cruis we will disembark in the mysterious Island of the Dolls to stretch our legs before embarking on our way back having to go on a boat elevator due to the different height of water in the dams.
We will see all kinds of boats carrying food, snacks, drinks, produce, Mariachi bands, and even the police.
